Mittwoch Mixes - Screaming down the halls & Root that Mountain Down

 Another pair of mixes.

The first, hwæt! Screaming down the halls features some intensive saxophones... When I was in middle school, I got the Stooges' Funhouse album as it was advertised as a precursor to Marilyn Manson. While I left Manson behind long ago, I've stayed a massive Stooges fan and hearing Iggy scream "blow Steve, blow!" in "Funhouse" is one of the touchstones of my musical taste.

Fourteen tracks instead of the usual thirteen, because how could I leave off "Fun House"? This mix is for those who like their saxophone extra Skronky. Also, for those who haven't seen it, the video for Ukandanz's cover of "War Pigs" is more than worth your time.

Mittwoch Mixes - We Are What We Eat / WHERE HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE GONE, MY HONEY?

Two mixes for all you fine folk this day. The first is a long simmering one that I've had cooking in the back of my mind for years... a mostly lighthearted and tongue-in-cheek food themed mix.

I've had this one stewing for literal years and it finally just clicked into place recently. I know I put the original version of "Crumbs on the Carpet" on my schlürf mix, but it was too fitting to leave off so I put a live version from the French Collection on this mix. There's also a hidden but brief bonus bit of fun hidden near the end of the mix to enjoy.

The second mix is another volume of covers, all of these covers of songs from the 1960's.

For a while I had thoughts of putting together a volume of Lee Hazelwood covers but it never quite came together. A slight theme of dreams runs through the mix.
